We recently printed these photographs by @benjaminras and @dean_belcher for their submissions to the 2025 Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize. Benjamin Rasmussen’s series Rain on Dry Earth follows the young female soccer players of the Petrichor Football Association in Cameroon, capturing their strength and determination. His work, shaped by a life lived across multiple cultures, often bridges portraiture and documentary to explore questions of identity and belonging. Dean Blecher’s portraiture brings an intimacy and clarity that reflects the environments his sitters inhabit. Alongside commissioned work, his personal projects return to themes of community, connection and the stories that bind us.
